Battlestar Galactica – Pegasus

Monday, September 26th, 2005

It’s been almost a full 24hours since I saw this weeks episode of Battlestar. The end of Season 2a an episode called Pegasus. I am still thinking about it and pestering my colleagues to see it. I’ve just ordered the mini series and season one online. Anything I can do to ensure this show stays on the air I’ll do. It was a very dark episode that pushed on at a breathless unpausing speed. Makes for very exciting television. We get deeper insights into many of the cast and it only serves to open up more questions and allow for further intrigue. It’s been a good 2/3 years since an episode of any series has had such an impact. I’d have to go back to the ending of Season 4 of West Wing. Fracking Amazing!!!

A West Wing Weekend

Monday, September 19th, 2005

I re-watched all of West Wing Season 6 over the weekend. Every episode except the Cuba one. Which was episode 20 I think. Not that it was a bad episode, it was just that I was in an Election Campaign mood. Jimmy Smiths is great; really looking forward to Season 7. Set to premier in the U.S. Sunday the 25th.

On a different note; I did lose the semi’s on Friday as I predicted in my last post. Lost in the final of the doubles also. Not sure what the prize for runner up was – I bolted as soon as the match was over to rejoin the West Wing Weekend.

I managed to get my desktop at home upgrade to Ubuntu ‘The Breezy Badger’. Very stable at this point. My laptop gave me a little trouble; power button got stuck. Had to open the thing up :/

TechCamp Ireland

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

I got an email recently informing me of the existance of the planned TechCamp Ireland. I think this is a fantastic idea, one which many geeks may have had before. And hopefully this will be the realisation. I know a few people who’ve registered. Sean O’Donnell a former comrade in arms will be there along with John Breslin. It’s on the 15th of October. The gist of the event is geekathon with everyone attending having to contribute with a 15ming+ session or talk.

Lansdowne Valley

Monday, September 5th, 2005

Myself and Anna are looking to buy an apartment in Lansdowne Valley, Drimnagh Dublin 12. It’s large, it’s central and hopefully it’ll be ours soon. Jumping through hoops for the bank right now.
